GM Rides Ltd (company number 10181728, registered address Unit 13 Sovereign Park, Coronation Road, London, NW10 7WP) is the data controller for your personal information. This notice explains how we collect, use and share your data when you use the GM Rides Driver App.

1.What data we collect about you
- Identity & licence data: Name, address, date of birth, driver's licence number, PHV licence number (TfL or Wolverhampton), and copies of your licences.
- Contact data: Email address, phone number.
- Financial data: Bank account details (for weekly payments), transaction history, cashout requests.
- Vehicle data: Vehicle registration, make, model, colour, insurance certificate, MOT, Logbook (V5), Taxi licence details.
- Location data: Real time GPS location when you are logged into the App (required to receive Ride requests and for safety).
- Usage data: App login history, Ride acceptance/cancellation history, ratings, complaints, support tickets.
- Background check data: Where required by law, we may collect information from licensing authorities or third party checking services.
2.How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Verify your eligibility to drive (licences, insurance, right to work).
- Operate the App (show you Ride requests, calculate fares, process payments).
- Pay you (weekly payments and instant cashouts).
- Communicate with you (support, updates, policy changes).
- Investigate complaints or disputes.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations (including reporting to TfL or Wolverhampton where required).
- Improve the App and our services (anonymised analytics).
3.Legal basis for processing
We rely on:
- Contract performance – to provide the App and pay you.
- Legal obligation – to comply with PHV operator licensing requirements, tax laws, and insurance verification.
- Legitimate interests – to prevent fraud, ensure safety, and improve our service.
5.Data retention
We retain your data for as long as you have a driver account with GM Rides, and for up to 6 years after account closure to comply with tax and legal obligations (e.g., HMRC records, licensing authority requirements).
6.Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access your data (subject access request).
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances.
- Data portability (receive your data in a structured format).

7.Location data – special note
The App collects your real time GPS location when you are logged in. This is required for the App to function (to match you with nearby Ride requests and to show riders your location). You cannot use the Driver App if you disable location permissions.
Location data is not shared with riders after the Ride ends.
8.Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will notify you via the App or email of any material changes.
